Hi, my name is Ed Clark and I am the owner of Houston Door Refinishing. After being in the service business for many years at the corporate level, it became quite clear that there were very few contractors out there that actually cared about the quality of their work. When I started this company I wanted to be able to offer a service that I could be proud of. It had to be something that I would enjoy doing for years to come. It also had to be something that would set me apart from all the other companies out there that don’t stand behind their work.

This is what led me to door refinishing. Now, we have been refinishing doors for over 19 years, and almost every day I see a home with a front door that has been damaged by moisture or bleached by the sun. Why? Because they were not finished properly from the beginning.

What We Do

How It Works

When we come to your home to refinish your door, we follow the steps below to ensure that your door looks like new when we are finished:

  • All of the work is done on site while your door is still on the hinges.
  • The door is not removed or taken away from your property.
  • Most of the work is completed while your door is closed.
  • It will need to be open approximately one hour during the process.
  • This will be a one day process.
  • The entire door refinishing process takes 4-6 hours to complete.

    • Our Process

  • Your door hardware is removed (if possible).
  • The front side (one side) of your door is stripped to the bare wood and sanded smooth.
  • It is stained back to the original color to match the inside,or any color you choose.
  • We then apply 3 generous coats of clear, exterior finish, made specifically for exterior doors.
  • Your door hardware is reinstalled.
  • Your door looks like a new door again!
